The month of December is a busy month in a school setting, especially a Catholic school. Christmas activities charge the staff and students with a renewed sense of anticipation. The concert songs set the beat, and the spirit of giving is ever present. The old year ends with a hearty round of Merry Christmas-see you next year.
Our new year opened on January 2nd with the knowledge that the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and the University of Notre Dame awarded Immaculate Conception School of Allegany County (ICS) a LightHouse AfterSchool Project grant. In December we received an outline of the grants expectations and, naturally, planning began immediately. Homework and academic support, STREAM activities, and wellness are high priorities of the project. The entire staff of our school works tirelessly to bring relief and extend learning opportunities to our students and their working parents. The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and the University of Notre Dame made it possible for our school community to enhance after school STREAM activities offered in our rural community. What a gift to our families!
We look forward to 2019 and anticipate exploring STREAM opportunities. After all, the explorers of today are the innovators of tomorrow.
2019 is a year to anticipate with optimism.
Have a blessed new year!
